Booking Flights:
We recommend booking your international flights to Ulaanbaatar well in advance. Depending on your departure country, you may find convenient connections through major international hubs. Please plan to arrive in Ulaanbaatar on the official start date of our journey and check the itinerary carefully before booking. Contact us anytime if you have questions.
Travel Planning:
The journey begins and ends in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia’s capital. Airport transfers are arranged for participants arriving on the official start date and departing on the final day. If you plan to arrive earlier or stay longer, you are welcome to do so, but please arrange your own accommodation and transportation outside the official tour dates.
Music & Experience:
No previous musical experience is required. Whether you are a complete beginner or already play an instrument, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the morin khuur and discover the basics of throat singing under the guidance of Batzorig and Rowan. Lessons are adapted to the group, with an emphasis on learning, sharing, and enjoying music together. Your morin khuur is yours to keep, so you can continue practicing and exploring Mongolian music long after the journey ends.
Accommodation & Travel:
During the journey, we travel through the remote landscapes of the Gobi, staying in local tourist camps and traditional-style accommodations along the route. Please be prepared for some long drives, basic facilities in some remote areas, and changing weather conditions. The adventure is part of the experience!
Important: Travel Insurance
All participants must have valid travel insurance covering their stay in Mongolia, including medical emergencies and repatriation. We also recommend cancellation insurance. Participants are responsible for booking their own international flights and arranging suitable insurance.
