Experience. Discover.

Altai Cultural Center is a place where Mongolian culture, music, and hospitality come together to create unique experiences. We bring a piece of Mongolia to Europe through overnight stays, workshops, retreats, concerts, traditional food, cultural events, and journeys inspired by the nomadic spirit of Mongolia. Our mission is to connect people through music, tradition, creativity, and meaningful shared experiences.
Throat Singing: Workshops. Retreats. Concerts.

Dive into the world of Mongolian throat singing

At Altai, we open the doors to the rich traditions of Mongolian music and throat singing. During our workshops, you will discover unique vocal techniques, traditional instruments, and the deep cultural roots behind this ancient art form. In a warm and personal setting, we guide both beginners and experienced musicians, allowing everyone to experience the magic of Mongolian music.

Our multi-day retreats offer an even deeper immersion into music, culture, and nature. Everything comes together in an inspiring environment focused on learning, creativity, connection, and relaxation. In addition, we organize concerts and performances across the Netherlands, Europe, and beyond — sometimes intimate and personal, sometimes grand and breathtaking.

Our MissionVision

We are Rowan and Saran, the driving force behind Altai. Together, we share a deep passion for Mongolian music, culture, and hospitality. Saran grew up in a traditional yurt in the Mongolian countryside and has been living in the Netherlands for many years. Rowan has spent more than twenty years exploring traditional Mongolian music and throat singing. Our worlds came together through music — and from that connection, Altai was born.

With Altai, we aim to build a bridge between Mongolia and the rest of the world. Through music, stories, food, hospitality, workshops, retreats, concerts, and cultural experiences, we share the richness of Mongolian traditions in a modern and accessible way. Our mission is to preserve, share, and bring this unique culture to life. Our vision is to create a place where people come together to learn, discover, connect with nature, meet new people, and experience an ancient culture that is still very much alive today.

Valuable
Collaborations.

We believe in collaboration and share a common mission: to preserve, share, and celebrate the beauty of Mongolian culture. Take a look at some of Altai’s friends and partners — people and organizations who share the same passion for Mongolia, its music, traditions, and cultural heritage as we do.
